FEES

Consultation Fee:

Please contact me for current session fees. Cash, cheque or direct bank transfer are accepted.

If you do not wish to claim a rebate, no referral is necessary.

Medicare Rebate:

In November 2006, the Australian Government introduced a Medicare rebate for psychological treatment by registered psychologists. To claim this rebate you will need to see your GP to discuss your eligibility for what is known as a GP Mental Health Care Plan. If you are seeing a psychiatrist, they can also provide a referral.

When your doctor registers you with Medicare for a Mental Health Care Plan, you may request a psychologist of your choice, or your doctor can refer you to a psychologist that he or she recommends.

With a GP Mental Health Care Plan, you are eligible for a rebate for up to ten sessions in a calendar year. This is provided in an initial block of six sessions. Following review by your doctor you are able to access an additional four treatment sessions. The current Medicare rebate for a session with a Clinical Psychologist is $131.65.

Private Health Funds:

Many private health funds offer a rebate for treatment sessions with a Clinical Psychologist. This usually is dependent on the type of cover that you hold. Please contact your health fund to enquire about the extent of your cover.

Cancellation Fee:

When less than 24 hours notice is given, or if you do not attend a scheduled session, a cancellation fee will apply.
