ABOUT
I am a Clinical Psychologist and Psychotherapist working in the Sydney CBD, providing a range of therapeutic and psychological services. I have twenty five years experience as a psychologist, helping adults of all ages across a wide variety of difficulties.
My early career was spent helping people who have experienced trauma and abuse either as adults or children. Since then, I have worked in a range of settings including non-government and not-for-profit services, the university sector and private practice.
I have trained in a variety of evidence-based practices including cognitive-behaviour therapy and schema therapy. I am also very interested in psychodynamic approaches, which aim to develop an understanding of the unconscious processes that direct our behaviour, and particularly influence the way we relate to others.
I see therapy as a collaborative process, and at its most fundamental as a relationship in which self-awareness can grow and lead to changes in behaviour, and a greater sense of agency in life.
I don’t believe in a “one size fits all” model of therapy, and strongly feel that therapy is at its best when tailored to an individual’s personality style, presenting problem and unique therapy goals.
I hold full registration with the Psychology Board of Australia, am a Member of the Australian Psychological Society, a Fellow of the APS College of Clinical Psychologists, and a Member of the Australian Clinical Psychologists Association.
